Terms of Use
The conditions for using Authenord’s website, registry, credentials, APIs and developer tools.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Using Authenord
These terms govern your use of Authenord’s website and services. If you do not agree to them, do not use the services. If you use Authenord for an organisation, you must have authority to act for it and remain responsible for the accounts, agents and integrations you manage.
Separate written agreements may provide additional or different terms for specific services. Where there is a conflict, that agreement governs the service it covers. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
2. Accounts and accurate records
Provide accurate information you are authorised to submit, keep it up to date, and protect access to your account. Do not impersonate another person or organisation, register keys you do not control, or describe a credential in a misleading way.
You are responsible for your agents and for activity performed through your account or integrations. Notify us promptly if an account or key may be compromised, and revoke affected credentials when appropriate.
3. What a credential establishes
Authenord issues signed records binding an Agent ID to a registered public key and recorded claims. Verification checks the evidence described in the documentation, including signature integrity, expiry and available status information.
A credential does not by itself establish legal-company affiliation, delegated authority, competence, safety or permission to transact. Offline checks do not establish current revocation status. A receiving service must verify key possession where relevant and apply its own access and business policies.
4. Keys, SDKs and integrations
You retain responsibility for generating, storing, backing up and rotating your private keys. Do not upload private agent keys to the registry or share them with a receiving service. Loss of a private key may prevent you from proving control of that identity.
Follow the documented signing and verification rules, use trusted issuer sources, protect against replay and check current status where required. Do not treat an HTTP success response alone as a valid credential result. Integrations, destination permissions, replay storage and operational controls remain your responsibility.
SDKs and other code distributed with an open-source licence are governed by that licence for the rights it grants. These terms do not remove rights granted under those licences.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Authenord to commit fraud, impersonate others, distribute harmful software, access systems without permission, interfere with service availability, bypass controls, misuse personal information, or violate applicable law or another party’s rights.
Do not forge credentials, misrepresent verification results or claim certification or endorsement that has not been granted. Responsible security research must be limited to systems and identities you are authorised to assess; contact us before activity that could affect other users or availability. We may apply reasonable usage limits to protect the service.
6. Your information and shared records
You retain rights in information you submit. You give Authenord the permission needed to store, process, sign and disclose that information to operate the registry and verification functions you request, including the public records described in our Privacy Policy.
Only submit information you have a right to use and disclose. Shared credentials can be retained by recipients. Revoking or closing an account does not necessarily erase credential history or copies held elsewhere.
7. Our content and third-party materials
Authenord branding, website content and service materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights, except where an open-source or other stated licence permits use. Do not present our branding or a valid verification result as approval of your products, agents or business.
Third-party names, logos, publications and videos remain the property of their owners. External services and resources are subject to their own terms. A reference, logo or industry perspective does not itself establish endorsement, certification or any particular integration.
8. Availability, changes and suspension
Features, interfaces and availability may change. We may perform maintenance, address security issues, introduce reasonable limits or suspend access where necessary to protect users, comply with law or respond to misuse. We aim to communicate significant changes when practical.
We may restrict or terminate use that violates these terms. You may stop using the service and contact us about closing an account. Revocation, audit history and data retention are handled as described in the documentation and Privacy Policy. No uptime or support service level is promised unless a separate written agreement provides one. Any future paid service will identify its applicable pricing and terms before purchase.
9. Service limitations and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, services and tools are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without guarantees of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose or error-free results. Cryptographic verification depends on correct implementation, trusted keys, key custody, status information and the receiver’s policies.
To the extent permitted by law, Authenord is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, loss of business opportunities or losses caused by your agents, compromised keys, unsupported integrations or third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable mandatory consumer protections. Separate written agreements may allocate responsibilities differently.
10. Privacy, questions and updates
Read our Privacy Policy to understand how information is handled. For a concern about these terms, a security issue or a dispute, contact [email protected] with enough detail for us to investigate, without sending private keys or passwords.
We may update these terms as services and requirements change. The date above identifies the current terms. Material changes will be communicated where required by law. Applicable mandatory law continues to apply; these terms do not impose a compulsory arbitration process or waive rights that cannot be waived.
